Series 4? It's series 33 really!
David Tennant is widely referred to as the tenth Doctor. Rightly so, as he is the tenth actor in succession to play the role. It makes little sense, therefore, that the BBC insists we refer to the latest series of Doctor Who as Series 4 (ie. the 2005 series being Year Zero), when they are happy for the actor count of the top man himself to be referred to in a continuum. If my calculations are correct the series just ended is in fact Series 33, if you apply the same logic to the series numbering and treat the 16-year break as just that. What's to be achieved pretending the revival is a different animal to the original, especially as so many of the Doctor's original enemies continue to feature?
Legal/ethical advice needed for film script
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- When I've combed the internet and failed to find what I need, you good folks at DS usually have the answer! I've looked online, gone through my university paperwork and been unable to find an answer. I'm worried that if I ask somebody I actually know, they'll put 2 + 2 together and make 10! I work with young people, and really don't want to start rumors flying for the sake of my film script. Okay... my main character (a trainee teacher) meets a bloke and falls for him in a big way, although they don't sleep together. She then goes to train at a high school and realises he is a pupil there. (He's only 17 but lied to her about his age - she thought he was 20.) After a few days, she goes to the head and explains the situation, and is allowed to complete her training, as long as she has no contact with him. She keeps her nose clean and passes her training. Here's the bit I need help with... half a year down the line, (the boy has left education and is over 18), if they got back together, would she face legal repercussions? could she lose her job?
Could Luke really go down to 6 stone?
Okay he was half joking in the diary room, but love him or hate him, you have to admit he doesn't have much weight to lose. With next week's restrictions continuing, I would say there's a real chance Luke could genuinely become malnourished? Would BB let that happen or care?
Hollyoaks - The New Issue Based Soap?
I think Hollyoaks seems to be overtaking EastEnders as the soap that tackles the most social issues. If you look at the last year or so they have tackled: eating disorders, sexuality, incest, bereavement, drugs, domestic violence, mental illness, teenage pregnancy, affairs and surrogacy to name a few. Soon there will be nothing left for them to cover, however I must say that they do deal with these issues well.
Active channels
When I press the 'Active' button on my remote, I now get a search channels menu for everything! Where have all of the exercise and lifestyle vids gone? I've been using online podcasts for a couple of months, but wanted to go back to the VOD ones as they are longer! I'm guessing it's because not enough people were using them, but why no warning?
